Affiliate Disclosure Policy
Effective date: 11 December 2025
Last updated: 11 December 2025
1. Introduction
At upSkill, transparency with our readers is very important. Because we participate in affiliate marketing programs, we want to be clear about how this works and what that means for you.
2. What are affiliate links and how does upSkill use them
- Some of the links on upSkill are “affiliate links.” This means that if you click on one of these links and then make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you.
- These commissions help support upSkill, and allow us to continue producing free content, articles, reviews, and recommendations.
3. When you will see our affiliate disclosure
- We include a short disclosure statement at the top (or very near the beginning) of any page, post, or content that contains affiliate links or product/service recommendations.
- In longer posts or articles, we may also repeat the disclosure near sections where links or recommendations appear.
- We aim to make our disclosure “clear and conspicuous,” so that you know about our affiliate relationships before you click a link.
4. Why we disclose
Because we may benefit financially when you use certain links, we are required by the FTC’s Endorsement Guides (and by good ethical standards) to disclose such “material connections.” This helps you make informed decisions and gives full transparency about our relationship with the merchants whose products or services we link to.
5. What the disclosure looks like (example text)
At the top of each relevant page/post we will include content similar to the following (or a variant that is equally clear):
“Disclosure: Some of the links on this page are affiliate links. That means if you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you.”
6. Additional notes on placement and formatting
- The disclosure will appear before any affiliate link, recommendation, or “buy now” button — not somewhere at the very bottom or hidden behind a link or collapsible section.
- The text will be plainly worded, easy to understand, and formatted so it stands out (e.g., using the same or larger font size as regular content, with readable contrast) so that it is not overlooked.
- If you join multiple affiliate programs (or link to different merchants), we will still use a single unified disclosure language to describe how affiliate links generally work on upSkill.
7. Our editorial integrity
Even though we may earn commissions via affiliate links, our editorial reviews, recommendations, and content are our own. We only recommend products or services that we believe are useful to you. Our financial incentive from affiliate commissions does not influence our honesty or integrity.
8. Questions or concerns
